Import & Export
As a business, which specializes in shipping overseas, we carry all aspects of import and export to and from most origin and destination points worldwide. In many countries around the globe we are capable of providing you with “Door to Door” service.
Ocean & Air Freight
Shipping overseas is conducted via ocean or by air. Via ocean, which is usually the cheaper method, costs are determined mainly based on commodity and volume. By air, which is usually a faster method, costs are determined mainly on combination of weight and measure. We have the means to ship your goods by any method worldwide.
Full container or Less than Container Load (LCL)
Ocean freight is handled for most commodities in metal waterproof 20′ & 40′ container. You do not need to have a full load container in order to ship overseas. We will handle shipment of any size, large or small. Less than container shipments will be crated in our facilities before consolidation. We usually have weekly consolidations to most destinations.
Personal effects & Household goods
Great care and professional packing are required to sustain the rough inland and ocean voyage. We have specially trained and experienced crews, dedicated to handle shipments of personal effects and household goods. From a free survey at the origin point of departure, through, the delivery to the final point of destination, we are committed to providing you with personal high quality service. A complete “Door to Door” service or any portion of it is available to and from most destinations.
Boats, Cars & Motorcycles
Costs of shipping vehicles are based mainly on their dimensions. Sail boats on cradles, boats on trailers, and sometimes cars are shipped via roll on/roll of voyages, which depart monthly. Although it is a bit more expensive, yet safer and faster, we recommend to ship cars in containers via vessels, which depart weekly. Motorcycles and jet-skies are usually crated, and consolidated with other freight into containers for weekly voyages. If one ships personal effects and a vehicle, we recommend that they are packed separately for an easier and faster release from customs at destination.
Commercial Freight
We can coordinate pickups of container loads and LCL’s from factories, including off sight crating, or receive deliveries at our warehouse to be consolidated with other freight. Our warehouse is fully equipped to take your loads. We will handle all documentation including sight drafts, letters of credit and certificates of origin.
Purchasing Appliances & Household goods
We do believe that with the various communication channels and their ease of use, you do not need any intermediates or brokers to handle the purchase of your goods for you. However, if such a service is needed, STRAND IS YOUR BEST CHOICE. The advantage of using STRAND for this purpose is that everything is handled firsthand, no subcontractors involved. We will order the goods on your behalf, inspect them upon their arrival at our warehouse, and inform you, weekly, what was received. When your order is complete, we’ll ship it to you, clear it from customs and deliver it to your residence.
Marine Insurance
As an additional service to our customers Strand offers All Risk marine insurance. For our customers who ship to Israel, Strand is an Israeli insurance underwriter with our own insurance representative that will intermediate between the customer and the main insurance office in Israel.
