Company History
Our Beginning – 1981
Strand Freight Systems began in Brooklyn, New York, in 1981 with a clear mission: to meet the demand for a better alternative to the international moving services available at that time.
Building Our Foundation in Brooklyn
After a short setup phase, Strand established its hub within the Brooklyn Navy Yard industrial complex. Operating from this secure and central location throughout the 1980s allowed us to focus on providing top-quality service to our clientele.
From the start, Strand's owners believed in tight quality control as the main ingredient for ensuring better service. Four decades later, we continue to uphold this guiding principle. This is why a Strand Director conducts the initial home survey and personally monitors each customer's shipment through delivery.
A Special Commitment to New Olim
Since our inception, Strand's management has maintained a warm spot for new Olim. Over the past four decades, our directors have provided counsel to many new Olim through private and group meetings, some coordinated with Tehilla and Nefesh B'Nefesh. Understanding the challenges involved with Aliyah, we've designed our service to meet the specific needs of new Olim.
Among our initiatives, we conduct an annual open house event around Passover to demonstrate to prospective Olim all the logistics involved with their anticipated move.
Our Move to New Jersey – 2010
After three decades of operating from Brooklyn, Strand took a major step to better serve our clientele. In late 2010, we relocated our hub to Hillside, New Jersey. The new facility is in close proximity to the port and is larger, more modern, and better equipped to respond to the logistical needs of our operation.
From our New Jersey hub, we're better positioned than ever to help with your relocation.
