Historically, Strand Freight Systems began its way in Brooklyn, New York, in 1981 with the mission of meeting the demand for a better alternative to the international moving services that were, at that time, available in the market.
After a short set-up phase, Strand established its hub within the Brooklyn Navy Yard industrial complex. Operating in the 1980s from a secure and central location such as the Brooklyn Navy Yard allowed us to focus on providing a top quality service for our clientele.
From the get go, Strand’s owners believed in tight quality control as its main ingredient to assure better service to Strand’s customers. Three decades later, we continue to believe in the same guiding principle. This is why a Strand’s Director does the initial home survey, and is the one who monitors the customer’s handling until delivery.
It is not a secret that since its inception, Strand’s management maintained a warm spot for new Olim. During the last three decades Strand’s directors provided counsel to many new Olim in the form of private and group meetings, some coordinated by Tehilla and/or Nefesh B’Nefesh. Understanding the hardship involved with Aliya, we designed our service to suit the needs of new Olim. Among them, we conduct once a year, around Passover time, an open house event to demonstrate to prospective Olim all the logistics involved with their anticipated move.
After three decades of operation from Brooklyn, Strand took a major step to better its services for our clientele. Late in 2010, Strand relocated its hub to Hillside, New Jersey. The new hub is in close proximity to the port. It is large, modern and better equipped to respond to the logistical needs of such an operation. From our hub in NJ we are better equipped to help your relocation than before.
